RЄGISTRATIOИ FOR UKRAIИIAИ LAИGUAGЄ CLASSЄS -
2025 FALL
Ukrainian language classes for adults and youth (at least 12 years of age, preferably with a parent) are being offered for the fall, 2025 at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Classes will be simultaneously in-class and on-line via ZOOM.
BEGINNER - For those who have no or very limited knowledge of the Ukrainian language. Class time will be distributed evenly among reading, conversation and grammar. Students will learn to read the Cyrillic alphabet.
Schedule: Thursday evenings, Sept 11 ~ Nov 27: 6:30 – 7:45 pm MDT
LEVEL II – This class will focus on learning vocabulary for common everyday situations and continuing to study grammar concepts. Students will learn phrases for self-introduction, greetings, and simple conversation. Registrants should be familiar with the Ukrainian alphabet and have some vocabulary.
Schedule: Thursday evenings, Sept 11~ Nov 27: 7:45 - 9:00 pm MDT
LEVEL III - Students will continue their study of grammar and vocabulary to expand their conversational abilities. Schedule: To be determined, but will probably be either Wednesday or Thursday evenings
LEVEL IV-- Students will continue their study of grammar and vocabulary from Level III to expand their conversational abilities. Schedule: Wednesday evenings, Sept 10 ~ Nov 26: 7:45 -- 9:00 pm MDT
LEVEL V - For more advanced students who have studied the Ukrainian language and grammar for several years, and/or may have learned Ukrainian in childhood. About 50% of the class-time is Ukrainian conversation with a contemporary native Ukrainian speaker.
Schedule: Wednesday evenings, Sept 10 ~ Nov 26: 6:30 – 7:45 pm MDT
FEE / CLASS / STUDENT: Adults $140.00; Youth $80.00 (at least 12 years of age and preferably accompanied by a parent)
MOST CLASSES ARE SIMULTANEOUSLY IN-PERSON AND ON-LINE.
NOTE: A minimum of 6 students per class is required to hold the class. Participants are requested to register by Tuesday, Sept 2, 2025.
