Prevention starts with awareness. Be informed on how you can protect yourself and others.
- Pray that this will end quickly; pray for the frontline medical staff, doctors and nurses; pray for those are ill and their quick recovery;
- Stay home, if possible;
- Self-isolate if you are feeling sick; do not go out in public;
- If you develop a dry cough, fever or have difficulty breathing– take the self-assessment at www.albertahealthservices.ca or contact Health Link at 811 for advice;
- Wash hands often and well;
- Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow;
- Avoid touching your face, nose or mouth;
- Disinfect surfaces that often touched – door handles, handrails, counters, etc.;
- Avoid close contact with people (keep and respect personal space 3’ to 6’);
- Avoid handshakes or hugs;
- Avoid fear and anxiety – live with faith; place yourself in the hands of God.
- Make it a point to call/email/text/video chat with those you know are alone or vulnerable at this time
